Hi everyone!
My name is Chris Lloyd and if you're interested in ukulele lessons then you've come to the right place. I teach one on one lessons in my private studio in Waterview, Auckland. I have over 30 years of musical experience - teaching music, playing in bands, and working in music retail. I'm teaching uke players from age seven upwards so don't be shy in getting started.
Ukulele is a great first instrument
Ukulele is a relatively inexpensive instrument currently enjoying unprecedented global popularity. Prices for the cheapest models start at around $30, and even some of the better quality instruments are only $200 to $500. It comes in small, medium and larger sizes, so it's perfect for kids and grown-ups alike. With only four strings to focus on, it's an excellent introduction to stringed instruments for kids (who typically have smaller hands), and being light it is easy to hold onto.
The Studio
My studio is in Waterview, Auckland - a convenient central to west Auckland location, suitable for those in Point Chevalier, Avondale, New Lynn, Blockhouse Bay, Mount Albert, and all neighbouring suburbs.
When can you come for a lesson?
Just about any time. Regular lesson times are available on weekdays after school and evenings, and on weekends. Daytime ukulele lessons can be arranged for those with flexible schedules. Hope to hear from you soon!
